The BMW X3 M40i Eventuri intake has been developed to give the turbo a less restrictive flow path while keeping intake temperatures low.

In the M40i, the proximity of the intake system to the exhaust manifold poses a challenge, causing the engine bay to heat up quickly. High temperatures compromise engine performance, requiring a solution that ensures minimal intake air temperatures (IATs). Our solution consists of a fully sealed intake system, designed to eliminate heat absorption and prevent the turbo from drawing in hot air.

In addition, our sealed airbox features a heat shield coated with gold reflection, which effectively minimizes radiant heat transfer from the exhaust manifold. In order to optimize airflow volume, we maximized the airbox size and incorporated a recess to seamlessly accommodate the strut brace.

Replacing the standard convoluted intake tube, our design utilises a prepreg carbon tube, with a much larger internal volume with an internal diameter of 109mm (4.3”) which seamlessly tapers to match the turbo inlet, providing an uninterrupted airflow path. This design is complemented by a custom high flow dry filter, rigorously tested for ISO certified filtration performance and featuring a larger filtration surface area compared to the standard filter.
